CRN Shipyard's New Construction 60-Meter Megayacht May Be Available for Charter
The largest vessel ever built in more than 40 years in the Marches Region will be launched in 2006

YV&C International Yacht Vacations & Charters Magazine reports:

Built in a record five months’ time, the new production shed in the CRN shipyard has been holding construction number 120 for a number of days now: this 60-meter mega-yacht, whose launching is scheduled for 2006, is one of the largest vessels ever built in the more than forty-year history of the nautical-industrial complex in the Marches Region. The transfer of this steel and aluminium beauty, whose interior spaces are currently being decorated, was a spectacular operation that involved a number of self-propelled cranes.

The yacht may be availabe for charter in 2006 based on her new owners' decision.

The new facility, built from reinforced concrete in the area that once held the Mario Morini shipyard, has a surface area of 1800 m2 and a height of 22 metres, meaning that it can  accommodate vessels measuring up to 80 metres in length. The building of the structure is part of the ambitious development plan announced by the shipyard and meant to restructure and modernise the operating areas and infrastructures of the facility, at a total investment of € 20,000,000.

The rise in the shipyard’s production, traceable in large part to the undertaking, in recent years, of new projects in steel and composite materials, is demonstrated by the twenty mega-yachts, measuring from 30 to 60 metres in length, that are simultaneously being built at the Ancona complex and at the Custom Line facility in Fano:  a number without equal in the international pleasure-boat industry.

Four different production sheds are used for the construction of steel and aluminium vessels under the CRN brand, making for a total covered surface area of 10,000 m2.

At present there are five steel mega-yachts under construction at the shipyard, all representing projects for which contracts have already been signed. These include two 54-metre vessels, one of which is about to be launched, plus a 57-metre and a 60-metre boat.

In addition, a letter of intent has been signed for a 72-metre yacht. These record results are a tribute to the regional seat of the Marches, which stands as a world capital of yachting and the birthplace of some of the world’s most fascinating top-luxury products. The first of the 54-metre vessels, christened “Ability” by its owner, will be launched on December 17th, while construction has already begun on the hull and the superstructures of the second 54-metre boat. In addition, the first pieces of sheet metal were recently cut for the hull of the 57-metre vessel, while work on mega-yacht CRN 60#02, project number 123 of the Ancona shipyard, will get underway in the next few months.
